Dispirited
A downloadable experience for Windows
Dispirited is a small, tiny project I made in about a month for my University Dissertation. The type of essay needed an accompanying work, so I made this quick little experience in RPG maker (that I don't really want to call a game) to go alongside the topic I went with for the essay, which is regarding Loneliness. The scope of the project eventually shifted focus to covering general negative feelings that accompany that too, such as burning out.
The actual contents of the game is simple. You play as a character, Alena, as she goes throughout her daily routines. There is not much to do, and there are very few maps relatively speaking, but there is a fair amount of dialogue you can see when inspecting objects and people, particularly those found indoors. Aside from the intended message and expressing how these things feel, the main attraction of the game is most likely within its writing.
Also of note is that the game has no audio whatsoever. I would most likely suggest putting on some form of music while you're going through it.
This game has only been tested to work on Windows.
I have not been able to ensure compatibility with Apple or Linux devices at this time. I I am sorry if you are unable to play it because of this.
Have fun! And thanks so much for giving this a try!

Wooow, it's been a long time since I played something like this. It was a nice experience, as someone who works with his projects to have a better life the message of the story stirred my mind a bit, I felt identified with the protagonist several times, yes I have become a bitter lately ahaha. Despite how short and super simple the game is, I appreciate it a lot, good job!
